Description
The pale-legged hornero (Furnarius leucopus) is a species of bird in the family Furnariidae. It includes the Pacific hornero (F. leucopus cinnamomeus) and the Caribbean hornero (F. leucopus longirostris), which often are considered separate species. It is found in Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Peru, and Venezuela. It occurs in a wide range of wooded habitats, especially near water.

Pale-legged Hornero mainly inhabits a variety of semi-open landscapes including second-growth scrub, pastures, agricultural lands, desert river valleys, fields, and urban areas. These environments often feature bare soil and are frequently located near water sources. The species thrives in areas with early-successional vegetation, river-edge forests, gallery forests, and second-growth woodland edges. While pale-legged Hornero can be found in a range of humid to semi-arid regions, it displays a preference for lower altitudes, typically dwelling in regions with moderate climates.
