Feeding Habits
Bluish-fronted Jacamar's diet likely mirrors that of its relative G. ruficauda, primarily consuming flying insects such as dragonflies. Bluish-fronted Jacamar hunts via sallying from mid-level perches, occasionally joining mixed-species flocks for foraging.
Habitat
The bluish-fronted Jacamar typically resides in areas bordering humid primary forests, including gallery forests and secondary growth, with a preference for vegetation near streams and lakes. This species thrives in mid-successional stages, characterized by a mixed canopy and the presence of Ficus and Cedrela trees, while its population density diminishes in both earlier successional stages and mature forests.
