Feeding Habits
Bronzy Jacamar predominantly consumes various insects, including Neuroptera, Hymenoptera, Diptera, Hemiptera, and Homoptera. Bronzy Jacamar forages alone or in small groups, sallying from perches to snatch prey mid-flight, often 2-10 meters above ground and may join mixed-species flocks.
Habitat
Bronzy Jacamar predominantly resides in the tropical ecosystems of Amazonia, favoring edges and clearings of both primary and secondary forests, including terra firme, várzea, and igapó environments. These birds are also adapted to white-sand campinarana, wooded savannas, and occasionally marshes with scattered woodlots. They prefer areas near streams and rivers in lowland regions and thrive in habitats with light undergrowth and open lower canopies, such as gallery forests and dry forests.
