Description
The white-chinned jacamar (Galbula tombacea) is a species of bird in the family Galbulidae. It is found in the Amazon Basin of Colombia, Amazonas and northern parts of Ecuador and Peru. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest and subtropical or tropical swamps.

Feeding Habits
White-chinned Jacamar's primary diet consists of Hymenoptera, including wasps and ants, and occasionally moths. Known for perching solitarily or in pairs, white-chinned Jacamar sallies from branches to snatch flying insects in mid-air within shrubby undergrowth and forest clearings.
Habitat
The white-chinned Jacamar primarily resides in dense, lowland forests and vegetated areas adjacent to rivers and streams. Its habitat encompasses the shrubby borders and treefall clearings of terra firma and floodplain (várzea) forests, as well as transitional and riparian (gallery) forests within broader tropical regions.
