Description
The bamboo woodpecker (Gecinulus viridis) is a species of bird in the family Picidae. It is found in Myanmar, Laos, Thailand and the Malay Peninsula. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical dry forests and subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests.

Feeding Habits
Bamboo Woodpecker forages mainly on bamboo, gleaning and probing into crevices for ants. Feeding singly or in pairs at lower levels, they peck lightly to create small holes and search substrates slowly, showcasing a specialized bamboo-based diet.
