Feeding Habits
Red-backed Thrush primarily feeds on insects such as ants, bugs, and beetles. It forages on the ground, darting swiftly under 0.5m, occasionally trailing other insectivorous birds to capitalize on disturbed prey.
Habitat
The red-backed Thrush is typically found in the deep shade of tropical lowland and mid-elevation broadleaf evergreen forests, predominantly in primary forests. It favors undisturbed closed-canopy habitats but can also adapt to disturbed secondary forests, particularly near streams, in ravines, and within secondary growth. Additionally, red-backed Thrush is known to inhabit agricultural landscapes, including cashew-nut plantations, as well as bamboo stands and expansive scrubland areas.
