Description
The hooded yellowthroat (Geothlypis nelsoni) is a species of bird in the family Parulidae. It is endemic to the highlands of Mexico north of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec. It is resident in dense semiarid to humid montane shrubland or chaparral.

Habitat

Ranging at altitudes of 1400 to 3100 meters, hooded Yellowthroat might also frequent damp areas within these habitats. In winter, it can extend to dense scrubs on the edges of woodlands, demonstrating adaptability to slightly varied habitats within its broader ecological niche.
