Habitat
White-fronted Quail-dove thrives in montane to lower subtropical forest environments, favoring areas with dense foliage that range from sea level to high elevations, known to reach up to 1685 meters. These birds adapt to human-altered landscapes and are also found in coffee plantations. Some have been spotted in unusually dry habitats with cacti, palm trees, and scrub, demonstrating their ability to inhabit a variety of forested ecosystems across broader geographical regions.

It is endemic to the Dominican Republic (it was once found in Haiti, but is now extirpated there) on the Caribbean island of Hispaniola. It is threatened by habitat loss.
