Description
The Santa Marta antpitta is 18 cm long and is brown above with eye ring. Its underparts are white streaked brown, except for bright buff throat, brownish flanks and cinnamon buff underwing coverts.

Habitat
Santa Marta Antpitta typically resides in humid montane cloud forests, encompassing mature second growth and the dense underbrush of forest borders. These birds are also known to navigate the fringe areas of their habitats, including small clearings and the vicinity of forest-edge roadsides, taking advantage of the slightly more open spaces these peripheral landscapes offer.
