Feeding Habits
White-faced Nunbird primarily consumes insects such as beetles, grasshoppers, and caterpillars. It forages mainly in the canopy, but is active at all levels. Nestlings are fed a diet of 78% insects, with occasional spiders, lizards, and small vertebrates. Unique to their diet, they sometimes include plant material.
Habitat
The white-faced Nunbird is typically found in the subcanopy and midstorey levels of humid and wet forests, including cloudforests. They prefer environments with steep slopes and nearby ravines and are often seen at the edges of forests and in small clearings. The species predominantly inhabits foothill regions in broader geographical areas characterized by these moist forest conditions.
