Description
The tourmaline sunangel (Heliangelus exortis) is a species of hummingbird. It is found in Colombia and Ecuador. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist montane forest and heavily degraded former forest.

Tourmaline Sunangel typically feeds on nectar from flowers like Salvia, Centropogon, and Fuchsia, favoring clinging over hovering. The tourmaline Sunangel is typically found in the interiors of humid and wet pre-montane forests and forest borders, predominantly in dense mossy cloudforests and elfin forests that include stands of bamboo. It favors environments like bushy clearings, hedges, and shrubby pastures, thriving in regions characterized by heavy vegetative moisture and dense plant growth.
