Description
The guira tanager (Hemithraupis guira) is a species of bird in the family Thraupidae. It is found in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guyana, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, and Venezuela. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests and heavily degraded former forest.

The habitat of guira Tanager encompasses diverse forested environments within tropical regions. It primarily resides in lowland evergreen forests but also occupies dry, moist, and moderately humid forests. Additionally, guira Tanager makes use of scattered trees in clearings and mangrove forests within its broad geographical range.
