Description
The ashy bulbul (Hemixos flavala) is a species of songbird in the bulbul family, Pycnonotidae. It is found on the Indian subcontinent and in Southeast Asia. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest and subtropical or tropical moist montane forest.

Feeding Habits
Ashy Bulbul's diet includes fruit, nectar, insects, and flowers, often seen foraging in mid-levels to subcanopy. This bird feeds boldy in pairs or flocks, even using aerial sallies for catching invertebrates, and shows a preference for Leucospectrum and Heptapleurum blooms.
Habitat
The ashy Bulbul primarily inhabits broadleaf evergreen forests, as well as areas with pine trees and bamboo patches. This species often resides at the edges of these habitats and nearby plantations situated in ravines and foothills. It is also known to occasionally explore tea plantations. During the non-breeding season, ashy Bulbuls may descend to adjacent plains and cultivated areas.
