Description
The grey-breasted wood wren (Henicorhina leucophrys) is a species of bird in the family Troglodytidae. It is found at low levels in wooded montane areas of Mexico, Central America and the northern Andes. It prefers humid regions. It is generally fairly common.

Feeding Habits
Grey-breasted Wood Wren primarily consumes invertebrates. They forage within leaf litter and undergrowth by using a 'double-scratching' technique. This bird is specially adapted to glean food from dense vegetation, showing a preference for insects and spiders.
Habitat
Grey-breasted Wood Wren typically resides in humid mountain forests across a broad range of elevations, predominantly at altitudes above 1500 meters. Its habitat spans various forest types, such as pine-oak complexes and bamboo thickets, also extending into the edges of páramo ecosystems. The species adapts to altitudes up to 3000 meters in certain regions, but it can also be found at lower elevations, descending to 400 meters in specific areas.
