Description
The adult white-breasted wood wren is 10 centimetres (3.9 in) long and weighs 16 grams (0.56 oz). It has chestnut brown upperparts with a darker crown, pale supercilia, and black-and-white streaked sides of the head and neck. The underparts are white becoming buff on the lower belly. The wings and very short tail are barred with black. Young birds have duller upperparts and grey underparts.

Feeding Habits
White-breasted Wood-wren primarily consumes invertebrates. Utilizing dense underbrush, white-breasted Wood-wren forages by flipping leaves and examining crevices. Known for its unique preference for a varied invertebrate diet, this bird adeptly adapts to the prey availability within its habitat.
Habitat
White-breasted Wood-wren thrives in dense, humid, and tropical environments, predominantly occupying the lowland and foothill regions of wet forests. They are typically found from sea level, ascending to elevations as high as 1300 meters, and occasionally even up to 2000 meters. These birds favor mature primary forests, but have also adapted to dwell within tall secondary growths adjacent to their primary habitats.
