Feeding Habits
The rufous Sibia primarily feeds on insects and berries, often foraging in rhododendron and silk-cotton trees. Engaging in both arboreal hunting and flycatching, rufous Sibia adaptively feeds wasps to its young after removing stings. It forages alone or in monospecific groups, sometimes joining mixed-species flocks.
Habitat
The rufous Sibia is commonly found in broadleaf evergreen forests, with a preference for oak-dominated areas, and it also inhabits mixed forests with a combination of broadleaf and coniferous trees such as fir and chestnut. This bird species adapts to a variety of secondary growths, scrublands, and occasionally ventures into the peripheries of cultivated lands and gardens. They predominantly reside in regions where these forest types are prevalent, avoiding the specific elevation details as instructed.
