Description
The long-tailed sibia (Heterophasia picaoides) is a species of Leiothrichidae from Southeast Asia. The species was once placed in the large family Timaliidae, but that family is sometimes split with this species being placed with the laughingthrushes in the family Leiothrichidae. The species is sometimes treated as the only species in the genus Heterophasia, with the other species being placed in the genus Malacias.

Feeding Habits
Long-tailed Sibia consumes a variety of food including insects, flower buds, fruits, berries, seeds, and nectar from Bombax and Erythrina. Forages in the canopy and lower branches, often in groups, and participates in mixed-species foraging flocks.
Habitat
The habitat of long-tailed Sibia encompasses broadleaf evergreen forests, forest edges, and areas of secondary growth. They are also prevalent in mixed oak and pine forests, as well as open scrubland characterized by the presence of large trees or clearings within forests. Long-tailed Sibia are often associated with environments that exhibit a lush, green canopy, supporting a rich undergrowth and providing a diverse range of feeding opportunities.
