Description

The melodious Warbler is known for its beautiful song. It has a distinctive plumage of olive-green and yellow on its back and wings and a white belly. This active bird feeds on insects and spiders and is a migratory species, spending its winters in West Africa and returning to breed in Western Europe and North Africa in the spring. It is often found in gardens, orchards, and forests.

Habitat

Adaptability leads them to overgrown orchards and unkempt gardens as well as open, tree-dotted savannas during African non-breeding seasons.

Distribution Area

The melodious warbler is a migratory species. It breeds in Western Europe and North Africa, and overwinters in West Africa south of the Sahara Desert. The breeding range extends from the Iberian Peninsula eastwards to Germany and Italy. In northern Africa it breeds in Western Sahara, Mauritania, Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia. Its typical habitats include bushy woodland, forest edges, thickets, riverside vegetation, orchards and gardens.
