Feeding Habits
Rufous-crowned Greenlet primarily consumes invertebrates and supplements its diet with vegetable matter such as fruit. Rufous-crowned Greenlet forages from high canopies to near ground, displaying agility by clinging sideways or hanging upside-down to glean food. It feeds alone, in pairs, or in mixed-species flocks, occasionally catching insects mid-air.
Habitat
The habitat of rufous-crowned Greenlet predominantly comprises the canopy layers of humid to fairly humid forests, including woodlands and tall secondary growth areas. It prefers diverse plant communities, avoiding areas dominated purely by bamboo, but may inhabit mixed stands with bamboo and other plant species. Rufous-crowned Greenlet is typically associated with lowland regions and adjacent hilly terrains.
