Size
16 cm
Feeding Habits
Nava's Wren primarily consumes invertebrates, foraging through leaf litter and probing bark crevices. Its specialized beak aids in extracting prey uniquely suited to its dense forest habitat.
Habitat
Nava's Wren is typically found in tropical evergreen forests characterized by karst limestone outcrops with a closed canopy approximately 15-20 m high and minimal understory, at altitudes from around 75 to 800 m. This region experiences a high rainfall, between 2000-2500 mm annually, with mean temperatures near 24°C. Unlike its relative the Sumichrast’s Wren, nava's Wren requires relatively undisturbed habitat and has no record of residing in secondary growth areas, but it can survive in small patches of its specialized karst forest environment.
Dite type
Insectivorous
