Size
12 cm
Feeding Habits
Guianan Warbling Antbird primarily consumes insects and spiders, including beetles, ants, and curculionid beetles. Foraging from ground level up to 12 meters, often in dense foliage or forest edges, guianan Warbling Antbird perch-gleans prey or makes sallies for food. It exhibits unique tail swinging and wing flicking while foraging deliberately, sometimes joining mixed-species flocks or following army-ant swarms.
Habitat
Guianan Warbling Antbird primarily inhabits the understory to midstory of humid evergreen forests, including terra firme, transitional, and várzea forests. It is also found in densely vegetated areas that form around natural clearings such as treefalls and alongside forest streams. Additionally, guianan Warbling Antbird occupies adjacent tall second-growth woodlands within broader lowland regions of tropical South America.
