Habitat
The boulder Finch primarily resides in the high-Andean grass-steppes, characterized by a landscape interspersed with large boulders and sparse vegetation, including tussock grasses and shrubbery. These birds are also found in habitats with wet cushion-plant bogs and stone-strewn riverbanks. Their habitat preferences extend to human-altered landscapes, where they exploit structures like farmland stone walls.
