Description
It is a small warbler, especially compared to others in their genus. They are pale brown (weak tea colour) above and whitish below with buff flanks. The outer tail feathers have pale edges. They have a short pale supercilium, and the bill is strong and pointed. Sykes's is larger and greyer than booted, and most resembles an eastern olivaceous warbler.

13 cm
Feeding Habits
Sykes's Warbler primarily feeds on insects and spiders, including caterpillars in summer. It forages actively in the canopy, occasionally descending to the ground to hunt. A characteristic behavior includes tail twitching while feeding and moving.
Habitat
Sykes's Warbler's habitat is characterized by open country regions with tall vegetation like bushes. This species shows a preference for sand or clay deserts and semi-deserts that have vegetation reaching at least 2 meters, notably saxaul, tamarisk, and willow. It typically avoids steppes and low scrub under 1 meter. Around the Persian Gulf, sykes's Warbler is found in mangroves, provided there are tall bushes or trees like tamarisks present. While breeding habitats include orchards and gardens, in non-breeding seasons, sykes's Warbler is also associated with acacias.
