Feeding Habits
Plain Tyrannulet primarily feed on insects and occasionally fruit. These birds forage alone or in pairs, sometimes joining mixed-species flocks. They exhibit active foraging within dense foliage, often cock their tails slightly, and employ perch-gleaning and hover-gleaning techniques to obtain food.
Habitat
The plain Tyrannulet typically resides in a range of woodland habitats, including deciduous and semi-deciduous forests, as well as the Chaco biome known for its thorny bushes and low forests. This bird species is also found at the edges of forests and, during the non-breeding season, predominantly along shrubby river margins and areas of early-successional growth characterized by Tessaria plants, commonly found on riverine beaches.
