Description
The yellow-throated tanager (Iridosornis analis) is a species of bird in the family Thraupidae. It is found in Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist montane forests.

The yellow-throated Tanager primarily inhabits humid montane forests with a preference for low, dense undergrowth and subcanopy regions. They are known to reside mostly at the forest edges and are found in habitats that include stunted cloud forests, mossy forests, and thickets. These birds are also observed in sandy soil forest areas, typically where the forest meets subtropical zones. While the yellow-throated Tanager shares some territory with a related species, they do not overlap elevationally, suggesting a partitioning of ecological niches.
