Description

The yellow-scarfed tanager (Iridosornis reinhardti) is a species of bird in the family Thraupidae. It is found in forests in the Andean highlands in Peru.

The yellow-scarfed Tanager typically inhabits humid montane forests and the edges of these forests. It is primarily found in montane evergreen forests, with a propensity for staying low in the forest stratum. It prefers areas with dense vegetation such as low-growing trees, shrubs, and particularly areas where Clusia plants are present. The yellow-scarfed Tanager may also occupy elfin forests and shrubby hillsides, often close to mossy ground.
