Feeding Habits
Mountain Bulbul is a generalist, consuming a varied diet of fruits, insects, and possibly nectar. It forages in pairs or groups, often joining mixed-species flocks. Mountain Bulbul plucks fruits during mid-air hover and sallies from perches to catch insects or extract them from spider webs.
Habitat
The mountain Bulbul thrives in high-elevation broadleaf evergreen forests, oak and rhododendron woodlands, and pine areas, often between 800–2700 meters. Its adaptability allows it to inhabit secondary landscapes like forest fringes, shrubby zones, and vegetated roadsides, as well as human-impacted regions like gardens. It is predominantly found across the Indian subcontinent, southern China, Indochina, and the Malay Peninsula.
