Rüppell's starling (Lamprotornis purpuroptera), also known as Rueppell's glossy-starling or Rueppell's long-tailed starling, is a species of starling in the family Sturnidae. It is found in Burundi, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Tanzania, and Uganda.

Feeding Habits
Rüppell's Starling is almost omnivorous, feeding on fruit like Euclea divinorum and Ficus, nectar from Apodytes dimidiata flowers, and insects such as termites. They forage mainly on the ground, often in pairs or small groups, and will scavenge at campsites.
Habitat
The rüppell's Starling typically inhabits grasslands dotted with trees and shrubs, often in arid regions close to water sources. It is well-adapted to cultivated lands and urban environments within its geographical range, which extends across broad areas of Eastern Africa.
