Description
The orange-bellied manakin (Lepidothrix suavissima), also known as the tepui manakin, is a species of bird in the family Pipridae. It resembles and is closely related to the white-fronted manakin (L. serena), and the two were formerly considered conspecific. It is, as suggested by its alternative common name, restricted to humid forest growing on the tepuis in southern Venezuela, far northern Brazil, and central Guyana.

9 cm
Feeding Habits
Orange-bellied Manakin primarily eats small fruits and insects, capturing its prey in a distinctive hovering flight.
Habitat
The orange-bellied Manakin typically inhabits montane forests and their borders. These environments are characterized by dense vegetation and a complex forest structure that provides the necessary resources for the orange-bellied Manakin's survival and reproduction. The species is generally associated with regions that contain these forest types, favoring the cool, moist conditions typically found in such areas.
