Feeding Habits
Brown-capped Tit-spinetail predominantly eats arthropods, especially Coleoptera eggs. They forage acrobatically from understorey to canopy, often hanging upside-down to glean food from foliage and branches, typically in pairs, small flocks, or mixed-species groups. A unique foraging association with Sylviorthorhynchus yanacensis is observed in Argentina.
Habitat
The habitat of brown-capped Tit-spinetail encompasses arid and semi-humid/humid montane scrubs, commonly found in ravines, as well as Polylepis woodland and semi-humid woodland. These birds are also prevalent around areas of forest edge and demonstrate a particular affinity for Polylepis australis woodland in the broader geographical region of western Argentina.
