The ochre-bellied dove or Buff Bellied Dove (Leptotila ochraceiventris) is a species of bird in the family Columbidae. It is found in Ecuador and Peru. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical dry forest, subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest, subtropical or tropical moist montane forest, and heavily degraded former forest. It is threatened by habitat loss and decreasing in population. It is a principally ground dwelling species, generally solitary or found in pairs, with some observations ranging up to seven in a group. They live for an average of 4.2 years. Little information is known about this species activity.

Feeding Habits
Ochre-bellied Dove primarily forages on the forest floor and understory, consuming fruits such as those from Trichilia trees. They gather in groups for water, often with other doves, and are typically seen alone or in pairs.
Habitat
The ochre-bellied Dove typically inhabits forest floors with dense leaf litter and requires a thick understorey of small trees and woody vines. It prefers habitats ranging from moist evergreen to dry deciduous forests dominated by species such as Ceiba trichistandra and Cavamillesia platanifolia. This species is also present in lower montane forests, semi-deciduous, and humid cloud forests, typically calling from an elevated position above the ground.
