Feeding Habits
White-tufted Honeyeater feeds on nectar and likely insects, spanning substage to canopy. They forage at flowers, notably coconut palms, and glean from leaf undersides. Conspicuously noisy, white-tufted Honeyeater is often seen alone, in pairs, or small groups, sometimes within mixed-species flocks.
Habitat
The white-tufted Honeyeater is typically found in a variety of lowland habitats including coastal and secondary monsoon woodlands, open scrub, shrubland, and mangrove ecosystems. Habitats also extend to human-modified landscapes such as agricultural lands with light tree cover, coconut plantations, and rural villages with scattered trees. While less common, it can also inhabit edges of primary forests and areas of semi-evergreen forests that have been subject to selective logging.
