Description
The cinnamon-vented piha (Lipaugus lanioides) is a species of bird in the family Cotingidae. It is endemic to southeastern Brazil. This species is dull brownish-grey overall. It is slightly paler and duller underneath. As its name suggests, it has a wash of cinnamon brown at the vent. It measures 28 cm (11 in) long. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest and subtropical or tropical moist montane forest. Declines in range and population are likely contributed to continuing habitat loss and degradation, which has caused this species to be classified as vulnerable.

Feeding Habits
Cinnamon-vented Piha primarily consumes fruits, including those from 38 plant species, and also forages for large insects. Nestlings initially eat only insects, later incorporating fruit. Cinnamon-vented Piha's feeding behavior involves peering about and sallying to pluck food from foliage or branches.
Habitat
The habitat of cinnamon-vented Piha primarily encompasses humid forests located in mountainous regions. These birds are typically found within lush, montane environments, often where there is a notable presence of moisture and dense vegetation. Cinnamon-vented Piha tend to inhabit these forests at various elevations, generally preferring mid-elevation zones within the broader mountainous landscape.
