Description
The dusky munia (Lonchura fuscans) is a species of estrildid finch which is endemic to Borneo. It is found in subtropical/ tropical lowland shrubland, forest and grassland habitat. The status of the species is evaluated as Least Concern.

Feeding Habits
Dusky Munia primarily consumes rice, grass seeds, and sedge seeds, supplementing its diet with insects. Dusky Munia forages low in the vegetation and on the ground, adept at extracting seeds from soil clods and buffalo dung.
Habitat
Dusky Munia are typically found in a variety of lowland habitats which include agricultural areas such as rice fields, grasslands adjacent to riverbanks, areas with secondary scrub, and other cultivated regions. Their preference trends towards regions at the edge of forests, where they have adapted to thrive in the mosaic of natural and human-altered landscapes.
