Size
8 cm
Feeding Habits
White-crested Coquette primarily feed on nectar from flowers such as Inga, Vochysia, Lonchocarpus, and Stachytarpheta. White-crested Coquette also consume arthropods, insects, and small spiders, exhibiting diverse dietary preferences.
Habitat
White-crested Coquette is commonly found inhabiting canopy levels and forest edges, often where there is a clear upper layer of vegetation. It thrives in mature second growth as well as in secondary growth areas with minimal tree cover, such as hedges near forests. This species is adapted to a life aloft in the treetops within these habitats, which can render it somewhat inconspicuous to observers on the ground.
