The buff-crested bustard (Lophotis gindiana) is a species of bird in the family Otididae. It is found in Djibouti, Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, South Sudan, Tanzania, and Uganda.

Habitat
The buff-crested Bustard predominantly inhabits arid to semi-arid regions, frequenting environments such as dry savannas and both subtropical and tropical dry shrublands. This species is typically found across broad expanses of bushland, thriving at altitudes extending up to 1200 meters in the Ethiopian landscape and reaching 1800 meters in Kenyan territories, albeit mainly occurring on the peripheries of highland areas.
