Description
The fluffy-backed tit-babbler (Macronus ptilosus) is a species of bird in the family Timaliidae. It is found in Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest and subtropical or tropical swampland. It is threatened by habitat loss.

Feeding Habits
Fluffy-backed Tit-babbler primarily consumes insects, notably small beetles. Typically forages in pairs, plucking prey from foliage. No unique dietary adaptations noted.
Habitat
The habitat of fluffy-backed Tit-babbler includes secondary forests that have undergone selective logging, forest edges, dense secondary vegetation, and areas surrounding treefalls. These birds are also found in environments with an undergrowth of ferns, scrub along logging trails, swamp forests, stands of bamboo, and low mossy forests. Additionally, fluffy-backed Tit-babbler inhabits overgrown rubber and Albizia plantations, as well as Eucalyptus groves, and can be found in lalang grass thickets and mangrove ecosystems within their range.
