Description
The crinkle-collared manucode is medium-sized, up to 36 cm long, greenish blue, black and purple-glossed with a long graduated tail, red iris and iridescent green breast feathers. Both sexes are similar in appearance, however the female is slightly smaller and less purple. This species resembles the jobi manucode in appearance, distinguished by its bronzed yellow-green neck feathers.

Feeding Habits
Crinkle-collared Manucode primarily feeds on fruits, with a preference for figs, and supplements its diet with invertebrates, such as insects and spiders. It forages from the understory to the canopy, often defending fruiting trees vigorously. Crinkle-collared Manucode also participates in mixed-species feeding flocks.
Habitat
The crinkle-collared Manucode inhabits a range of forested areas, predominantly in hill and lower montane regions. This species favors densely wooded environments on the mainland of New Guinea as well as lowland forests on the island of Misool. Its habitat is characterized by lush, tropical and subtropical climates in these broad geographical zones.
