Habitat
The black-faced Monarch inhabits a variety of forested environments, including lowland tropical and subtropical rainforests, gallery forests, eucalypt woodlands, and wet forests. It is also found in swamp-forest areas, mangroves, as well as coastal and monsoon scrubs. This species can adapt to regrowth areas and occasionally frequents suburban parks and gardens. During the non-breeding season, the black-faced Monarch may be observed at the edges of plantations, such as teak plantations, and can be found at elevations up to 800 meters in New Guinea.
