Description
The ferruginous flycatcher (Muscicapa ferruginea) is a species of bird in the family Muscicapidae. It is found in Bangladesh, Bhutan, China, Indonesia, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, the Philippines, India, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist montane forests.

Feeding Habits
Ferruginous Flycatcher consumes small invertebrates and larvae, foraging alone typically in forest clearings. This bird captures prey with aerial acrobatics from a perch, often at dusk, displaying a unique partly crepuscular feeding behavior.
Habitat
The ferruginous Flycatcher inhabits humid broadleaf forests, often with a prevalence of oak species, as well as dense mixed lowland jungles. In non-breeding seasons, it is found within both mature and secondary forests spanning lowland to lower montane zones. Broad geographical regions include the Himalayas, parts of Northeast India, certain areas in South China, and within the island ecosystems of Southeast Asia, commonly adapting to forested environments.
