Description
Measuring 14 cm (5.5 in) in length, the azure-crested Flycatcher is sexually dimorphic. The male has light blue crown with slate-blue upperparts, and white underparts. The female in brown above with greyish tinged cheeks and bluish tinged crown. Unusually for the genus Myiagra the bill is bright orange instead of black.

Feeding Habits
Azure-crested Flycatcher primarily consumes insects and spiders, foraging alone or in small groups. Typically seen gleaning from leaves or making aerial sallies to catch prey, azure-crested Flycatcher feeds mostly in lower to middle strata, rarely venturing higher.
Habitat
The azure-crested Flycatcher typically resides in mature forests located within hilly and mountainous terrains, favoring environments that are less disturbed and show minimal signs of regrowth. Preferred habitats are denser forests, especially when compared to those occupied by the closely related species M. vanikorensis, which tend to live in less dense forest areas.
