Feeding Habits
Panama Flycatcher primarily feeds on insects and fruits, foraging from a perch and catching prey mid-flight. This species exhibits agile aerial hunting skills and may also show a preference for certain types of fruits, demonstrating adaptability in its diet.
Habitat
The panama Flycatcher predominately inhabits a range of forested regions including tropical deciduous forest, gallery forests, secondary growth forests, and blue carbon-rich mangrove forests. Their preferred habitats extend to arid lowland scrubs, semi-open woodlands, and man-modified landscapes such as field edges and pastures with scattered bushes. Geographically, these birds are found from sea level up to elevations of 1400 meters, with certain populations adapted to the unique ecology of mangroves, particularly to the west of the Andes mountain range.
