Description
The grey elaenia (Myiopagis caniceps) is a species of bird in the family Tyrannidae. It is found in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guyana, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, and Venezuela. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest.

Grey Elaenia is primarily insectivorous, often consuming invertebrates. It also incorporates fruits into its diet, exhibiting frugivorous tendencies. Habitat
Grey Elaenia is typically found in a diversity of forested environments including subtropical and tropical moist lowland forest and subtropical, tropical swamp forest. This species occupies the forest canopy in regions characterized by varied forest types such as dry forests, gallery forests, cerradão, semi-deciduous dry woodlands, and even regenerated forests beneath eucalyptus trees. Geographically, grey Elaenia inhabits broader areas of South America, often ranging from sea level to around 1,900 meters in elevation, with a preference for regions generally below 1,100 meters.
