Feeding Habits
White-browed Antbird primarily consumes insects and spiders, including orthopterans, beetles, ants, and lepidopterans. It forages close to the ground, moving diligently and using wing-assisted hops or short flights. Unique adaptations include following army ant swarms for prey while avoiding competition from specialized ant-following species.
Habitat
White-browed Antbird primarily dwells in the understory and edges of evergreen forests, as well as in tall second-growth areas with dense vegetation. Favoring moist environments, these birds are often found near water in várzea, transitional habitats, and Heliconia-dominated floodplains. They also inhabit bamboo thickets and shrubby fringes of forest clearings and savanna woodlands, predominantly within the tropical forests of South America.
