Feeding Habits
Rusty-breasted Nunlet preys on a diverse diet, primarily large arthropods such as beetles, crabs, stick insects, katydids, and insect larvae up to 2.5 cm long. Rusty-breasted Nunlet occasionally joins mixed-species flocks for foraging.
Habitat
The rusty-breasted Nunlet is typically found in the midstorey of humid terra firme forests, including areas bordered by várzea forest and second growth or forest edges, which may or may not contain bamboo. Their habitat preferences extend to sandy-belt and riverine woods within broader tropical regions and exclude igapó forest types where they are competitively displaced by similar species.
