Habitat
Rufous-capped Nunlet typically inhabits the subcanopy and undergrowth of various types of humid forests, including forest edges, terra firme forests, secondary growths, and transitional forests. The species is commonly found in dense, low-lying forest areas near streams and igapó (flooded forest regions). Extending across broad tropical regions, rufous-capped Nunlet is closely associated with bamboo thickets, especially those near river edges. They are also present in habitats characterized by vine-dominated second growth and are known to utilize areas of early successional floodplain forest composed of Tessaria. In hilly forested areas, rufous-capped Nunlet's presence is often noted along streambeds.
