Size
58 cm
Feeding Habits
Nocturnal Curassow's diet is primarily vegetarian, foraging during the day, especially near dawn and dusk. They search for food alone, in pairs, or small groups, mostly beneath fruiting trees. When threatened, nocturnal Curassow silently flees or remains motionless to hide.
Habitat
The nocturnal Curassow thrives in dense, humid terra firme and flooded forests, typically associated with blackwater river systems. Their habitat is characterized by a mix of regions with an open understorey populated by epiphytic mosses and bromeliads, and more densely vegetated areas dense in Geonoma palms. Nocturnal Curassow generally inhabits lowland mature forests with flat or gently rolling terrain, preferring locales that are either partially flooded or feature numerous small streams.
Dite type
