Description
The dwarf longbill, spectacled longbill, plumed longbill or dwarf honeyeater (Oedistoma iliolophus) is a species of bird in the family Melanocharitidae. It is found in New Guinea. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical dry forest, subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest, and subtropical or tropical moist montane forest.

Feeding Habits
Spectacled Longbill primarily feeds on insects, nectar, and occasionally fruit. It actively forages in lower vegetation and at flowering trees, frequently flicking its wings. It displays unique behavior by gleaning from spider webs and facing downward on trunks. Spectacled Longbill may visit forest pools, often seen alone or in pairs, and sometimes joins mixed-species flocks.
Habitat
The spectacled Longbill primarily inhabits rainforests and, in some areas, monsoon forests, favoring regions in lowlands and hills. It is also a common resident at forest edges and in areas of secondary growth, where it visits flowering shrubs. The bird is predominantly associated with tropical climates in broader geographical regions endowed with dense vegetation.
