Feeding Habits
Silver Oriole primarily consumes insects and fruit, and is also known to feed on nectar from Erythrina trees during the non-breeding season. Silver Oriole typically forages alone or in pairs within the canopy and may sometimes participate in mixed-species flocks for feeding.
Habitat
Silver Oriole typically inhabits evergreen and semi-evergreen broadleaf forests. Its preference for mature forests includes isolated emergents and edges, although sightings in these areas might be influenced by observer accessibility. Silver Oriole is adaptable, occupying primary, secondary, and replanted forests, as well as lightly wooded agricultural lands, although their breeding use of these varied landscapes is uncertain. Outside of the breeding season, silver Oriole is found in evergreen forests and secondary growths within its ecological range.
