Description
The dark-necked tailorbird (Orthotomus atrogularis) is a songbird species. Formerly placed in the "Old World warbler" assemblage, it is now placed in the family Cisticolidae. It is found in Bangladesh, Northeast India and Southeast Asia. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest and subtropical or tropical mangrove forest.

Habitat
The dark-necked Tailorbird typically resides in diverse forest environments ranging from broadleaf evergreen and semi-evergreen to mixed deciduous types. It is also found in secondary growth areas, bushy thickets, and bamboo stands, with local populations inhabiting mangrove ecosystems. While generally avoiding areas with human presence, it may occasionally be seen near villages at the periphery of forested regions.
